The concrete wall collapsed around 6 a.m. Thursday at 123 Cottage St., said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson.
The building, a commercial structure, is used for storage, he said.
No one was injured and building officials are on the scene to determine the safety of the structure, he added.
Cottage Street is closed while the road is cleared of debris.
